Geocaching is a relatively new idea, starting at the beginning of this century. It is a new way to enjoy the great outdoors with family and friends. Using a simple GPS receiver, the goal is to find hidden treasure caches. There are about 7 caches within a couple of miles from town, and there are many more up the White River, down Piceance Creek, and around other beautiful areas around Meeker.
